A few weeks ago, I read a blog post about this sweet nineteen year old who committed suicide. I knew I had to share her story… Madison Halleran was a College Freshman at UPenn, she committed suicide by jumping off the top of a parking garage. She was a student Athlete, a Friend, a Daughter, a Sister. (beautiful inside and out) She appeared to have everything going for her. I cried many tears and still have a knot in my throat thinking about her. Her tragic story seemed to have something to do with her perception of her friends on Social Media. Specifically, on Instagram. She battled Metal Health Issues- How could someone so talented and beautiful be hurting so bad inside? Madison was fighting an internal battle behind the scenes. Looking at her Instagram account… You would never know… How could someone be so perfect be in such pain. My heart breaks for her family. Here is Madison’s Full Story written by Kate Fagan for ESPN. I want every Girl & Boy out there who has experienced the confusing and demanding idea of PERFECTION to know you are not alone and that you know the difference between what is real and what is not real. Get help if needed. Don’t feel alone- Please let Madison’s story be a reminder “It’s Ok To Not Be Ok. It’s Ok To Show People You’re Not Ok.”
