Ritz cracker toffee is salty and sweet and so simple to make. Melted butter and brown sugar are made into a sticky toffee that is poured over ritz crackers then topped with a melted chocolate peanut butter mixture. A must make ritz holiday treat!
All you need to make this easy toffee is ritz crackers, butter, brown sugar, creamy peanut butter and chocolate chips!
Ingredients
- 50 ritz crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 10 oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips
Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place around 50 ritz crackers in a single layer on the cookie sheet.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan on the stove, melt butter and brown sugar and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, stir the mixture constantly for 2 – 3 minutes, until thick.
Step 3: Pour the toffee mixture over the ritz crackers, and use a rubber spoon or spatula to spread it out evenly.
Step 4: Bake for a few minutes, until bubbly.
Step 5: In a bowl add chocolate chips (semi sweet) and peanut butter heat in microwave just enough to mix together. Spread mixture over the top of the toffee covered ritz crackers.
Then use a rubber spatula to spread the chocolate peanut butter mixture out evenly. I topped mine with Holiday sprinkles.
Step 6: Place the ritz toffee in the fridge or freezer for an hour or two, until hardened.
