Sometimes life is really hard! When you want to be at two places at the same exact time. Today is that day- my sweet friend over at The Welcoming District had her re-launch party today at Black Wall Hitch Alexandria in Virginia. I am honored to say Johnston Style collaborated with her on this amazing event! Alicia and I met at The Inspired Retreat a couple years ago and we both came back to Inspired last Fall. We did a lot of connecting and business chat, but it seemed to be exactly what we needed. Alicia is one of those amazingly talented people whom everything she touches turns to GOLD! She has an impeccable eye and can style like no other. … [Read more...]

Alt Summit Flashback
The last time I attended Alt Summit was a few years ago. In Salt Lake City. I had never been before- I loved everything about it! Salt Lake City is such a beautiful town. I stayed at The Grand American Hotel... I shopped and ate at the most amazing restaurants. The conference was the biggest conference I had ever been to! My first night, I was hosted by sponsors at local restaurants for our opening night dinner and we had amazing themed dinners at the hotel on other nights. The last night of the conference Alt threw mini parties where each room was decorated to the nines by vendors and sponsors. This was my favorite part! Of course it would … [Read more...]
Packing For Alt Summit
Alt Summit here I come, I am so excited to be heading back to Alt. This year, Alt is hosting their conference in Palm Springs. After the snow storm we just had, I'm telling you sunshine on my face sounds great right about now! I've been to The Saguaro, Scottsdale for a few conferences but I've never stayed at The Saguaro, Palm Springs. The Saguaro hotels are known for their swanky boutique style and vibrant colors! I'm so excited to be packing today! I've included some items I have already packed and some that would be a perfect fit if you are visiting Palm Springs! … [Read more...]
Target Valentines Style
Besides being candy jar obsessed, I am also completely obsessed with Targets dollar section! These were $3 each... I found my sweet Nob Hill knock offs at TARGET. Yep, you heard right... the glassware and the candy dishes surprisingly both are glass not plastic. I also found the smaller cookie stand there too. Targets Valentines section could have been a problem for me but I was able to grab and go! I only had a small amount of time to get in and out of there and I wasn't going to look for Valentines stuff. (heehee) If you think it's all junk and you just walk by because it's cheaper... I'm here to say "don't do it!" Look at all the … [Read more...]
Lights, Camera, Action
This last weekend we had our Clackamas High School baseball auction- the decorating committee has been working on the theme and design since last September. We came up with Lights, Camera, Action specializing in baseball movies with a Hollywood Oscar vibe! We decorated 30 tables of 10, the entry, the bar, a photo booth and the main stage. I've been on this decoration committee 4 years now and every year I'm excited about what we do, but I have to say this year was my very favorite. The auction went well and now this amazing committee is Rock in' and Roll in' ideas for next year! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! … [Read more...]

Popcorn Forever
I am am over the moon exited to have partnered with Poplandia Popcorn, Portland's #1 popcorn company. I am on the decorationing committee for Clackamas High School's baseball team. I knew when we decided to go with the Lights, Camera, Action theme for our annual auction that POPCORN would play a FUN part of the night. Poplandia was completely on board with my idea! We had gallons of flavored popcorn around the auction. Buttery Bust, Sea Salt Caramel and Sharp White Cheddar. It was a hit as guests snacked on this delicious treat. These were just a few of Poplandia's amazing flavors. If you don't live in Portland? No need to worry... … [Read more...]
Meet + Greet
Henry's is one of my very favorite places to eat in Portland, Oregon. Last night, was a Meet + Greet for anyone who was interested in attending The Together A Boss Lady Experience. I had such a FUN time- I love meeting new faces, especially local friends. I had some delicious appetizers and the best watermelon martini. YUMMY! We had a group chat and answered questions people had regarding the conference. If you are interested? There are a few tickets still available but are selling out FAST. I can't even believe I forgot to take photos- It was so dark, not sure the photos would have looked good anyways. I'm so … [Read more...]
Royal Icing
I had over 300 cookies to make for our High Schools baseball auction! I decided to make sugar cookies and do ROYAL ICING for the first time... I made stars and oscars for our Lights, Camera, Action theme. I used Sweet Topia's Royal Icing Recipe and I have to say... It was amazing! I can hardly believe it worked. For me the key was adding drops of water to get to the consistency I wanted for the perfect piping. I first piped the outside of the frosting then came back in and filled the inside. I also added edible glitter on the top to add a little sparkle to the design. So much FUN! I'm so happy to be done, but definitely would frost with Royal … [Read more...]
